Head Over Heels

It's a pretty tall order getting these, but I have high hopes! :D

Enter well-heeled wishlist.

Kate Spade Bali Wedge Sandals

This is really pretty. And It'd totally match my dress' design too!

Nine West Mirren Cross Strap Platform Heeled Court

Gives the staple black heel a minor/major but sophisticated twist.

Vivienne Westwood for Melissa, Mary Janes
Jellies are definitely not prom material, quirky as they may be! However this pair is really really cute. Go maryjanes, and Vivienne Westwood for Melissa!

KG by Kurt Geiger Echinacea Patent Platform Shoes with Wooden Heel
I personally detest most bows of all kinds but this hot shoe has got some funky business going on.

POPPIN Suede Cage Platform Shoes
Not only is the colour really unique but it looks really pretty too! Thin straps contrasted with the chunky platforms. Encompasses a feminine flair too.

Karen Millen Platform Strapped Heeled Sandals
I saw this pair today! It looked really pretty but it was high up and I couldn't reach it. Anyway, red is always a statement stunner and this strapfestooned one is no exception.

Head Over Heels Prom Cut-Out Sandal
Mm pretty patterns to jazz up a pair of black kicks.

Kate Spade Twirl Karolina
The master of all shiny shoes. I bathe in its aura of sunshine bedazzlement.

All images courtesy of katespade.com and asos.com.

Mm one of the best grungy songs by a girl lead ever!

Anyway, hope you have a well-heeled holiday. (:

Mission: Failed [Nov. 18th, 2010|09:56 pm]

Mission: Failed

Clara and I braved the throngs of eager sixteen year olds @ Wisma, Ion, Somerset and Robinsons (truth be told, muchly on the other end of the spectrum in terms of population size) to search for the all important tools which enable you to totter around feeling tall and totally confident.

The only thing I really loved was this pair of Steve Madden kicks! :

Alas, it had a kick out of being too unaffordable for my limited budget too.
This makes us even. In an utterly unfair way. :/

Thus my backup contingency plan is New Look heels. Massivesigh.

So besides heels, I still need a clutch/bag, hairband/accessories! And also to think of hairstyle, makeup and what not. Perhaps contacts too.
Sigh!
I need a miracle srsly.

Oh and if my dress doesn't turn out well I'm eyeing this Fcuk flights of fancy-like white dress. Rly pretty but I need DEEP CAVERNOUS POCKETS first. Or maybe just David Goldman (An Education)

The End of an Era of Evil Exile [Nov. 16th, 2010|05:44 pm]
The End of an Era of Evil Exile

HELLO! I am finally blogging again because A) I am bored B) I am dying to tell everyone, I don't really care but just a general announcementlikethingamajig to the world, about how I am finally liberated from the evil O.W.L.s. Hahaha kidding just O Levels. C) I really need to start verbalising my thoughts better and blogging again will be a good way to do so or I will soon b rduce 2 talkiing lyk dis yo. D) On second thought multiple choice options are for people with exams and I'M NOT A PERSON WITH EXAMS! so we shall have such choices NO LONGER.

Anyway, now that the big O is over, my life is officially like this:

Rainbow coloured fields included. Srsly. Anyways, so obviously to mark such a momentous day of long-awaited INDEPENDENCE, the Dramaddicts had a sleepover! at my place. But before that we headed to Thompson Plaza to get ingredients and supplies for our dinner! Which we would be making of course, with our own hands (fear not casting your eyes downwards to read the rest of this post, it REALLY wasn't a disaster, contrary to popular presumptious belief) and as a prelude to that I took the bus there all by myself! So it really is a day of much independence. -puffs out chest proudly-

It amounted to like 91++ bucks! And then we went to VideoEzy to rent some movies. To cater to our vastly differing interests, we had two chick flicks (yay) and one horror movie.

So Chantel, Jo and Sharon arrived later, and we consequently had a PARTAYE IN THE KITCHEN! No literally it was quite wild. All of us, with the exception of Cabby {head sous chef} were rather inexperienced, to say the least, in the art of cooking. Or even chopping. Sharon and I just kept crying and crying while chopping onions HAHA and Shuqing soon gave up to join the safe potato jacket preparation station (Y)
We made aglio olio too, a lovely salad with divine mango sauce, mini prawns/shrimps. Big Daddy Atticus Finch Manda prayed for all of us before we ate: to thank God that we had each other throughout the entire journey, that he was always watching over us and guiding over us, and how wonderful it was that it was all over now! And because we were so terribly hungry (it was around 8.30) we started eating and the food was DE-LICIOUS. No srsly we are opening a restaurant at Orchard kthx. Okay maybe just Cabby (L)

Then Jo had to leave! And after Ron and I had bathed, we watched The Fourth Kind (the horror movie) and I got so freaked out by even the title screen already HAHA I am such a noob. The recurring violin like music doesn't help.

Which is why I'm now officially freaked out by owls. Even though I looooooooooove all sorts of owl merch

And then we watched She's Out of My League and the guy was REALLY REALLY cute and it just made all of us fall in love with nerdy, sweet, scrawny guys all over again. (L) The girl was quite hot, though more cute IMO. His Disney-lovin' best friend was so cute haha! Princess Jasmine, really. I almost expected him to say "This is what dreams are made of" when they got together at the end. Aww.
And his best friend is damn funny and Krysten Ritter is freaking pretty.
Yay and so after chick flicks I always feel like this:

<[ ! ]

And then we watched An Education, which I watched before with my parents in the cinema (oops, multiple gay babies born then, no srsly) and which I thought was really really good but I think it put 3 people to sleep HAHA. It's just, being in Singapore I can sort of connect with her, y'know. Of course not the dangerous-liasons-with-older, glamorous-men part. O:

And then we finally slept heh. At 'round 3.45 in the morning! Bliss. Cabby jolted awake suddenly at 7.30 though, ttly disrupted my sleep hahah! Thank God no aliens came in the night. Anyway Manda and I were the last to be up, and the rest were all making crepes from the batter we prepared yesterday! It really looked pretty and sumptuous, except for one teensy little mishap -
Cabby had put half a cup of SALT instead of SUGAR in it.
Hahahha we all braved through part of it, some all (clapclap) and drowned it in Ribena popsicles and Ice Cream and Apricot Jam and &10 cream cheese, but to no avail. Ah well :D

And then we went to IKEA to meet Jo and commence a FANTASTIC FEAST of meatballs and our hide and seek game around the premises!
Of course, Chantel with a C for Competitive, had Jo wear MATCHING ATTIRE since they were on the same team. LOLcats. Black tank tops much. Anyway I was literally jiggling with excitement, I LOOOOOOOOVE IKEA food no kid and it really was awesome. Chicken wings and swedish meatballs with the sauce and raspberry jam is pure. heavenly. kaboombliss.

So we teamed up, Manda & I (father and daughter tagteam hehehe) Sharon & Jeanette, Shu & Cab, Jo  & Chantel! So one team would be the seeker first, and the other 3 would hide - and every 10 minutes we would mass message each other and swap roles.

I DO strongly advise you not to form alliances in this game *cough cough*. It turned out not very according to plan HAHA. But it was rly fun (:

And then we went to _________ to buy rings and stuff. At first we wanted to start our own accessory business, but after seeing the amount of work we would have to put into launching it and personally handmaking every single jewellery item... I figured we're better off renting my semi-extensive collection HAHA.

Okay so THAT was a super fun-filled time we all had! SEE HOW PRODUCTIVE WE CAN BE WHEN ITS NOT ABOUT WORK OR STUDYING.

:D:D:D

Anyway, you must watch the Social Network if you haven't already, Rooney Mara's really pretty and a pretty cool actress too. I'm so excited to watch & read the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - 've heard all about it!

And this hols I'll finally get to read lots and lots of books ~~~ BORDERS LATER, YAY

And besides Doctor Martens and heels for prom and all those miscellaneously IMPORTANT stuff on my wishlist,
I also am dying for these awesome Paul Frank specs <3
Burnt Umber. Okay anyone just hire me now for minimum wage I promise I'll be tax-free
Need moolah to tide me through these eventful two months. :D

And that's a wrap! Peace out! Am anticipating a luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurvely excitement-filled holiday. Blog more soon!

miracles [May. 1st, 2010|01:08 am]

[Current Music |Rogue Wave - Eyes]

I am so happy. Today just proves that miracles can happen, and miracles ARE happening for good people who deserve it and shoulda seen this coming a long time ago :) but I'm glad it did, at the height of their lives, possibly, and at the finish line.
We're pretty much parallels, in inexplicable ways, and in others obviously quite different, but it's good to know we have something in common. That we do have someone we can secretly root for. And be happy for their triumphs.
It's been a good day of subtle reminiscing and observing what could very well be the last show we'll ever catch.
But it was good.
Wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Wouldn't have missed this entire journey for the world.

Mathematics [Apr. 27th, 2010|12:37 am]

[Current Music |Little Boots - Mathematics]

Mathematics is a difficult thing
I never understood what was the missing link
And by the time I calculated the correct solution
The question had escaped me and so did the conclusion

So tell me everything must always equal two
Or nothing else is true
And I'll believe you
Cos your X is equal to my Y
But equations pass me by

So will you take just a little of my mind and subtract it from my soul
Add a fraction of your half and you'll see it makes me whole
Multiply it by the times that we've never been apart
You'll see nothing can divide just a heart plus a heart

A little of my mind
Take it from my soul
A fraction of your half
See it makes me whole
And multiply the times
Never be apart
Cos nothing can divide a heart plus a heart

Don't know my Fibonacci or Pythagoras
But the only formula I know will work for us is that
When we're together in the sum of our parts
It's far greater than what we added up to at the start

So tell me everything must always equal two
Or nothing else is true
And I'll believe you
Cos your X is equal to my Y
But equations pass me by

So will you take just a little of my mind and subtract it from my soul
Add a fraction of your half and you'll see it makes me whole
Multiply it by the times that we've never been apart
You'll see nothing can divide just a heart plus a heart

A little of my mind
Take it from my soul
A fraction of your half
See it makes me whole
And multiply the times
Never be apart
Cos nothing can divide a heart plus a heart

A heart plus a heart

Take just a little of my mind and subtract it from my soul
Add a fraction of your half and you'll see it makes me whole
Multiply it by the times that we've never been apart
You'll see nothing can divide just a heart plus a heart

A little of my mind
Take it from my soul

Musings [Apr. 1st, 2010|11:39 pm]

[Current Music |Stars Crashing Stars - City Girl]

It's disconcerting that every available moment, every moment that I feel free or bored or have nothing to do, I feel empty. Even with music perpetually blasting in my ears (if there's a reason my mom'll give me up to the SPCA it'll be cause of that) I can't erase this feeling. Now that it's gone, where's my purpose, my direction? As my eyes scan my msn list again there's no one I can ever talk to about it, about anything.
I know if anything ever hit me as hard, if anything ever hurt me as bad
It would be what I just left behind
but I'm not ready to let go yet.
Will I ever?
I learn about other people suffering, maybe not exactly the same way, but we're connected in this way. We're distant acquaintances but in that instant I feel we have the world in common, and I want to help you.
But guess I'm not part of the circuit anymore,
not part myself anymore

4.48 Psychosis [Mar. 1st, 2010|08:44 pm]
[Current Mood |crazycrazy]

Come now, let us reason together

Sanity is found in the mountain of the Lord's house on the

horizon of the soul that eternally recedes

The head is sick, the heart's caul torn

Thread the ground on which wisdom walks

Embrace beautiful lies –

the chronic insanity of the sane

the wrenching begins

like a bird on the wing in a swollen sky

my mind is torn by lightning

as it flies form the thunder behind

At 4.48
when sanity visits
for one hour and twelve minutes I am in my right mind.
When it has passed I shall be gone again,

I have been dead for a long time

Back to my roots

I sing without hope on the boundary

please open the curtains

so beautiful. so damn beautiful. but yet so inherently tragic. Sarah Kane you hurt me in making me believe the message you bring

Soul [Feb. 19th, 2010|12:26 am]

[Current Mood |pensivepensive]

There was once a man who was travelling to a distant land. Along the way though, he had to cross a dangerous gulf. Preparing himself mentally, physically and spiritually, he began walking into the gulf.
As he was walking, the devil materialised before him. He said: "Give me your soul, or I will take away your mind." The man replied: "I will never surrender my soul to you." The devil vanished, and took with him the man's brain. The man had no more sense or logic, and felt he was lost. But his heart remembered its purpose, and continued beating. The man continued his journey.
As he was wandering, the devil materialised before him a second time. He said: "Give me your soul, or I will take away your heart." The man replied: "I will never surrender my soul to you." The devil vanished, and took with him the man's heart. The man had no more pulse and feeling, and felt he was beaten. But his soul burned fiery with his spirit, and continued burning. The man continued his journey.
As he was persevering, the devil again materialised before him a third time. He said: "I already have your soul, and it is too late. Since you have denied me twice, I will take you away with me." But the man replied: "You do not tell the truth, for no one can take away my soul. They can take away my mind and take away my heart but no one can take away my soul. My spirit is strong and I will carry it with me even if I cease to exist." The devil vanished. The man continued on, until he reached the end of the gulf, and he walked free.
The man looked ahead, and he saw yet another gulf.
But he looked behind him, and saw that he had crossed yet another gulf.
With that, the man continued his journey.
